Base Pair Genomics Partners with Zoetis to Level Up Genomic Testing

Big news from Base Pair Genomics - Zoetis is officially on board as our new partner laboratory. This partnership marks an exciting step forward, giving us greater testing capacity, better value for clients, and even stronger long-term genetic insights through RePRO BI.

Genomics is moving fast, and this collaboration helps ensure Base Pair clients stay right on the front foot. By teaming up with Zoetis, we’re making genomic testing simpler, more flexible, and better value, without adding complexity to your workflow.

What’s Changing?

Plenty of good things. First up, we’ve simplified our testing structure. Instead of juggling multiple bundles, clients now have access to a single RePRO BI bundle, which includes parentage and horn/poll testing, with optional add-ons available. The result? Clearer pricing and easier access to the tests you actually need.

Even better, the RePRO BI bundle now delivers more value at a lower price, with horn/poll and parent discovery included.

There’s also good news for anyone submitting tail hair samples. The previous processing fee has been scrapped entirely, and tail hair cards are now available free of charge.

More Flexibility, More Options

Partnering with Zoetis also opens the door to a wider range of add-on tests, including Pompe’s, Pestivirus, and Myostatin, with additional testing available on request. For suitable breed profiles, clients can also access Inherit Select and Optimize GEBVs and indexes, adding even more value to their genomic data.

What Does This Mean for Existing Clients?

If you’re already testing with another lab, there’s no pressure to change. However, the most cost-effective way to access RePRO BI moving forward will be directly through the Base Pair Genomics and Zoetis partnership.

Switching is straightforward. Clients simply need to send TSU or tail hair samples directly to Zoetis and provide the Base Pair team with the relevant submission details, including sample barcode, animal ID, EID, date of birth, and breed. There’s no longer any need to submit samples through the Base Pair or Black Box portal.

As always, the Base Pair Genomics team is on hand to help make the transition smooth and hassle-free.
